Last week I was at a wedding in Seattle. It was awesome and cool and totally weird at the same time. For one thing, the bride was a super good friend from grad school and she looked amazing. Second, the groom was the lead guitarist for a power-pop band from the mid 2000s.
All the groomsmen were in the band. Everyone drank heavily. Yes, it was pretty awesome. The weird part was being a single at a wedding.
At the end of the night the singles pair off and head for sheets, or group together and continue the drinking. I chose the later. The weird part is how quickly after the ceremony you find out who's a single when you're a single. It's also weird watching the pairings happen. Grabbing someone in the drink line. Carrying around two drinks and saying, "I got you a drink," to the first single person in sight.. People yelling at people from cabs. People shoving close friends into cabs to prevent cock-blocks. The ever convenient "that's my neighborhood!" A wedding is like a bar that no one ever leaves by themselves.

Instead of getting ready for another wedding, I'm tweaking this blog, getting it ready. I haven't done any personal blogging in a while. A long while. I'm really looking forward to this.

I do love weddings though. I love getting suited up, seeing people looking sharp. This is what I wore:
I have to get the suit dry cleaned before Sunday. There was a cake accident.
